CONSERVATION
“Inlet Protection” is a primary goal on the Pierce’s Park job site. P. Flanigan & Sons is committed to sustainability, conservation and environmental protection.
One of the most important aspects of preparing the site for demolition is the “sediment control fencing” a black mesh fence that surrounds the perimeter of the future park. It keeps silt and other debris from entering the inner harbor’s water.
Every day that digging takes place for the ponds and storm drains, the water that has seeped in over the course of the night must be pumped into the storm drain. It is an enormous amount of water. The pump will pull out 60 c=gallons of water per minute and the pump runs six to eight hours a day!
