David Hess is a multifaceted artist whose imagination embraced the concept that the design team was exploring to create a park where sculpture was an integral part.
You have to see it to believe it. The choreographic style movement of men who work in silence — as they weave in and out of each other’s way – laying the pavers — they are the team who are creating the beautiful walkways – it is an art.
The miracle of Pierce’s Park is the many people who have volunteered their time and resources to make it happen. From design work, to implementation, the expression “it takes a village” is relevant here!
It was Susan Flanigan’s love of literature that Pierce Flanigan III embraced and so grew his love of poetry. Pierce was multi-faceted – a successful businessman who read constantly – went to theater and movies, loved politics, travelled to cities.
Pierce’s Park will feature four man made ponds in this beautifully designed urban oasis. Now is a good time to visit the site and see the big digs!
Under the supervision of Willow Artist Bonnie Gale, volunteers from across Baltimore and Maryland came together this week to help construct the Pierce’s Park Willow Tunnel.
Every day people pass the Pierce’s Park construction site – on their way to work, walking the dog or strolling along the harbor front on a beautiful day. The following photos depict just a small slice of the world that walks by each day.
